What is vintage and collectible biker leather?
Vintage biker leather is gear built to last — jackets, vests, and chaps from earlier decades that were cut from heavier hides and assembled with hardware you simply don’t see on fast-fashion leather today. At Hasbro Leather, vintage and collectible pieces have been part of our shop since 1986. We carry pieces as they come through our doors, we buy quality vintage leather from riders looking to pass it on, and we restore older jackets on the same repair bench we’ve run for nearly four decades. What We Carry & Buy
Our vintage selection rotates constantly, but it tends to include classic black motorcycle jackets with talon and conmar-style zippers, broken-in naked cowhide and horsehide, fringed and braided vests, club leathers, and the occasional rare collectible piece with original patches or shop tags intact. We’re also always interested in buying quality vintage biker leather. How to Spot Quality Vintage Leather
Knowing what separates a genuine quality piece from a worn-out one comes down to three things:
Hardware — Look at the zippers, snaps, and buckles first. Heavy metal zippers (often branded Talon, Conmar, or YKK) that still glide, solid snaps that click firmly, and substantial buckles are signs of a piece built to last. Plastic or corroded hardware is a red flag, though zippers and snaps are exactly the kind of thing our repair bench can replace.
Tags & Markings — Original maker tags, union labels, and size stamps help date a jacket and confirm it’s the real thing. Collectible value climbs when the original labels and any period patches are intact, so we never remove them without asking.
Leather Condition — Good vintage leather is supple, not stiff or flaking. Surface scuffs, a worn-in patina, and honest wear add character and are easily restored; dry-rot, deep cracking, and brittle panels are harder to bring back. We assess every piece by hand and tell you exactly what can be revived.

A vintage jacket rarely needs to be retired — most just need attention. Our in-house repair bench has spent decades bringing old leather back to life: replacing worn zippers and snaps, restitching seams and panels, repairing or replacing linings, conditioning dried-out hides, and re-securing or relocating patches.
