Sizing & Fit

How do I find my correct size?
Measure your chest, waist, hips, and sleeve length, then compare to our Size Guide. Leather tends to break in and stretch slightly over time, so if you’re between sizes, we suggest sizing down for a snug fit that will mold to your body. When in doubt, visit us in-store — our team has been fitting riders for over 40 years.
How should a motorcycle leather jacket fit?
A motorcycle jacket should fit snugly through the chest and shoulders with no bunching, and sleeves should be slightly longer than a casual jacket to cover your wrists when gripping handlebars. You want enough room to layer a hoodie underneath but no excess fabric that could catch wind at speed. Shoulder seams should sit exactly on the shoulder — not drooping or pulled tight.
Do your jackets run true to size?
Our jackets are cut to standard US sizing, but fit can vary slightly by style. Product pages include a size guide specific to each item. When in doubt, reach out to us — we’re happy to help you find the right fit.
Can I get a custom size?
Yes. We offer custom sizing on most items — jackets, vests, and chaps can all be tailored to your measurements. Visit our Custom Products page or call us at +1 (203) 846-2603 with your measurements and we’ll walk you through the process.
Do you offer in-store fittings?
Yes — free in-store fittings are one of our most popular services. Visit us at 304 Main Ave, Norwalk, CT and our team will help you find the right size and style. We’ve been fitting riders since 1986, so bring your questions. No appointment needed.

Leather & Materials

What type of leather do you use?
We use premium cowhide leather on most of our jackets and gear — known for its durability, abrasion resistance, and beautiful aging over time. Some items feature buffalo hide or lambskin, which is noted on each product page. We do not use bonded or synthetic leather.
What is naked cowhide leather?
Naked cowhide (also called “naked leather”) is full-grain cowhide that has been minimally processed — no heavy pigment coating or finish on top. You see the natural surface of the hide, including grain variations and character marks. It develops a rich patina with wear and is prized by club riders for its authentic look. It does require more regular conditioning than finished leathers to stay supple.
Is your leather ethically sourced?
Our leather is a by-product of the meat industry, sourced from suppliers who adhere to responsible practices. We take quality and sourcing seriously and work with tanneries that meet industry standards for environmental and ethical responsibility.
What is the difference between cowhide and buffalo leather?
Cowhide is smoother and more uniform in texture, making it ideal for jackets and fitted gear. Buffalo leather is thicker, slightly rougher in texture, and extremely rugged — great for heavy-duty riding gear and accessories that take a beating.

Motorcycle Gear

Are your helmets DOT approved?
We carry both DOT-certified and novelty helmets. DOT helmets meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 and are legal for road use in states that require helmet use. Novelty helmets are not DOT-certified and are not intended for use as safety equipment. Each helmet listing clearly states whether it is DOT or novelty — always check before purchasing. See our Helmets selection for the full range.

Leather Care

How do I clean my leather jacket?
Wipe down your jacket with a clean, damp cloth to remove surface dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a leather cleaner designed for your type of leather. Avoid soaking leather in water or using household cleaning products, as these can dry it out and cause cracking. For heavy soiling or stains, bring it in — we can assess and advise on safe cleaning.
How do I condition leather?
Apply a quality leather conditioner every 3–6 months, or whenever the leather begins to feel dry. Work it in with a soft cloth in circular motions, then allow it to absorb overnight before buffing off any excess. Regular conditioning keeps the leather supple and extends its life significantly.
Can I wear my leather jacket in the rain?
Leather is naturally somewhat water-resistant, but prolonged exposure to rain can damage it. If your jacket gets wet, let it dry naturally — never use a heater or dryer. Once dry, apply conditioner to restore moisture. For regular rain riding, we recommend a leather protectant spray.

Repairs & Alterations

Do you repair leather jackets?
Yes — leather repair is one of our core services and a genuine specialty after 40 years. We repair zippers, snaps, seams, torn panels, worn linings, and more on jackets, vests, chaps, and bags. We work on gear we didn’t sell — bring in any leather item for a free assessment. See our Repair & Fitting Services page for details.
Do you repair zippers and snaps?
Yes. Zipper replacement and snap repair are two of our most common jobs. Whether the pull broke, the teeth are misaligned, or a snap has come loose, we can fix it. Bring your item to our Norwalk shop for a free estimate. Turnaround on most zipper and snap repairs is 3–7 business days.
Can I get patches sewn on my vest?
Yes — patch sewing is one of our most requested in-store services. We sew all types of patches onto leather and textile vests: back patches, front patches, flags, and more, using heavy-duty thread and proper backing so they hold up to riding. Bring your vest and patches to our Norwalk shop for a free estimate. See our Repair & Fitting Services page.
